Window Tint Percentage Descriptions
Most commonly as an example, near all Tesla owners end up installing window tint on all windows on their Model 3, Model S, Model X or Model Y vehicles as this is where you’d get the most benefit on any vehicle on the market. We always recommend 70% or 80% VLT Xpel PRIME XR on the front windows or windshield as this will not at all limit your view in any way but still gives you a good deal of infrared heat rejection and 99+% UV rejection.
Rear windows and sunroof can have as dark of a tint as you want down to what’s called 5% which is commonly referred to as limo tint in the window tinting industry. The problem with 5% window tint is its very difficult to see out of at night.
The solution to this if you want the privacy provided by a dark window tint, yet want to see out at night from your vehicle we recommend 20% which is a small compromise between the dark 5% view limiting window tint and the lighter window tint options available on the market. Window tint percentages
How the below window tint numbers work is the smaller the number the darker the film is. VLT stands for visual light transmission, being the amount of light the film lets through when installed and is the standard name for the numbers used on the % scale.
The lower the number the darker the tint is and the more infrared heat rejection the Xpel PRIME XR film offers, which goes up to an 88% heat rejection in the infrared spectrum.
- 80% – Virtually unnoticeable and see through
- 70% – Looks like a normal window and barely adds any shading
- 50% – Beginning to look a bit black but can still see in pretty easy
- 35% – starting to get difficult to see in the car especially on a rainy day
- 20% – Can generally only see in on certain angles on a sunny day
- 5% – Virtually can’t see into the car even in full sun

Xpel PRIME XR Window Tinting
ClearBra offers quality Vancouver window tinting services using Xpel Prime XR tint from Xpel. This is a lifetime warranty Nano ceramic series window tint designed to reject infrared heat and not just shade or darken the windows like many other cheap window tint film on the market. Options range from 80% VLT to 5% VLT with the higher number being the lighter film and lower number being the darker. VLT stands for Visual Light Transmission. 5% is known as limo tint in the window tint industry and the higher 80% and 70% films are virtually see through and generally used on front windows as it does very little to change the look of the window or limit the view from in and outside of the windows where applied.
Xpel FUSION Plus Ceramic Coating
Vancouver ClearBra offers two quality Vancouver ceramic coating Nano sealants being Xpel FUSION Plus and Ceramic Pro to help protect your clear bra or other unprotected surfaces. This includes paint clear coat, plastic trim, fabric, leather, rims, windows, chrome and many other areas where ceramic coatings can be applied. Ceramic coating is designed and proven to prevent the contaminants from sticking and destroying areas protected. If you choose not to have clear bra installed on all painted clear coat areas, we’ll need to polish aka do color correction on those areas to remove swirl marks, holograms and spiderwebbing in order to obtain the best look possible in preparation for the clear coat paint surface to be protected.
Keep in mind, ceramic coatings are not meant to stop rock chips, scratches etc… They’re designed to add gloss and help make washing your vehicle much easier by not allowing contaminants to stick to your paint, clear bra, leather etc… Think of a ceramic coating as a new generation of sealant or wax, designed to get into smaller pores.
